New Stair Treads Arrived!!!!

My stair treads finally arrived today via UPS!!!
I ordered 13 (should have ordered 14 but I mis-counted somehow!?!?) braided stair rugs from an online store www.primitivehomedecors.com to place on my faded stairs that I recently tore a runner off of. I did have some issues with customs but in the end got my beautiful mats and layed them tonight as soon as I got home (and took pics).

On another note...I have begun my Home Management Binder with the help from www.abowlfulloflemons.blogspot.com and will post some pics of the finished project as soon as I am finished:) It gives me something to work on while the snow continues to pile up!! Just keep telling yourself :
With every snowy day we are one more day closer to Spring!!

Newest Yardsale find and some make-overs!!

I am so excited about my latest find on a FB group for local people selling items. I saw this cabinet and fell in LOVE with it immediately:) Here it is...I still have to fill it with things and I was thinking maybe some quilts and/or coverlets...My favorite part of this piece is the chicken wire on the doors:)

I also did a couple of make-overs.....

Make-over!!

So...When we bought the house there was this awful burgundy runner that when down the stairs. Yes, it kept the stairs warm in the winter however...it was a magnet for hair, lint and anything else. It was so hard to keep clean so I decided to tear it up:) Here is the pic of the ugly burgundy runner:

Then I was left with multi colored stair risers and treads. This is the moment where I wondered what I had gotten myself into!! So for now I just re-painted the risers to clean it up a bit and then I will see what I can find to put on the stairs to cover the faded middle section:) Below are some before and after pics:

Hopefully I will be able to find some kind of treads for the steps that will suit my taste. I was thinking of maybe some small braided mats...if I can find some cheap enough....lol

Challenge #3 & Finished bowl rack

My third challenge was my pantry...oh dear, what a mess it was!!! I ended up throwing out 1/2 bag of garbage with this purge. Below is the before and after which I am very pleased with. I just hope that it stays this way...lol

Last night I finished my bowl rack!! I was so excited when I was done that I couldn't wait for the walnut stain to finish drying and I hung it up while still damp:) Here is the finished photo that I took of it hanging in my dining room.

Challenge #2

My challenge #2 was to clean out the dresser drawers and organize them. I only have one small dresser as we hang most of our clothes in the closets so below is the before and after:)

The rest of the day I spent sanding and painting 2 coats of flat black on my bowl rack so now I am off to sand again and distress!! I can't wait to get it finished, hang it up and take some pics to post:)

My Challenge #1 (Supposed to be Challenge #5)

So...I found the best ever blog http://abowlfulloflemons.blogspot.com that is doing a 21 day organizing challenge. It began on January 1st so I am a little late but better late than never!! So here is my first challenge of organizing under my kitchen sink...it was a little difficult with the oversized reverse osmosis water system under there but I did what I could...lol
Below are my before and after pics:

Can't wait to see what the challenge is for tomorrow!! I would really encourage anyone to check out this blog that I have linked over on my sidebar...It has given me the intiative to tidy up a bit and hopefully it will stay that way:) Now I am off to sand my bowl rack that I put together last night with help from Char at http://charsethman.blogspot.com and her wonderful tutorials!!
I have posted a pic of the rack below and will post the finished product as soon as I am done.
